How scheduling works
When your request comes in we look at where you are and what you need, group you with nearby jobs, and call with a day and a two-hour arrival window. Sweeps, inspections, tune-ups and dryer vents are usually within one to three days. Masonry work depends on weather and is scheduled after the inspection. We confirm the day before and call when the truck is on the way.
What to expect on the day
- A crew in a marked truck, on time or with a call if traffic on Route 50 has other ideas.
- Drop cloths and a sealed fireplace opening before any brush touches the flue.
- Photos of what we find, shown to you before we recommend anything.
- A written summary before we leave, and an invoice you can pay by card, check or cash.
Preparing your home
- No fire for at least 24 hours before a sweep so the flue is cool.
- Move breakables off the mantel and give us about six feet of clear floor in front of the fireplace.
- For a dryer vent, clear the space around the dryer so we can pull it out.
- For a gas tune-up, know where the gas shutoff and the wall switch or remote are.
- Pets in another room, for their sake and ours.
Rescheduling
Life happens. Call the office and we will move you. Weather can also move roof work; we will always call before we do not show up.
Booking questions
Is this an instant booking?
No. We confirm every request by phone so we can match the right crew and time. You will hear from us the same day.
Can I pick a specific time?
Tell us your preference in the message. We schedule in two-hour windows and do our best to hit the one you want.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. We are open seven days a week, 7am to 9pm, and Saturday is one of our busiest days.
How long will the visit take?
A sweep or inspection is about an hour. A gas tune-up about an hour. A dryer vent about 45 minutes. Combined visits run longer and we book accordingly.
Do I need to pay when I book?
No. You pay when the work is done.
What if you find something that needs repair?
We show you, explain the options and give you a written price. Nothing is added without your approval, and the inspection is credited toward the repair.
Can I request Jacob personally?
Yes. Put it in the message. He does most Level 2 inspections and reline planning himself.
Do you send reminders for next year?
Yes, if you would like them. We keep a reminder list and call when your annual service is due.
