Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Friendship Chimney Sweep is committed to making friendshipchimneysweep.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

• Semantic HTML with one main heading per page and a logical heading order.
• A skip-to-content link at the top of every page.
• Keyboard-accessible navigation, menus, forms and the dark mode toggle, with visible focus states.
• Text and background colors chosen for at least 4.5:1 contrast in both light and dark modes.
• Text that can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content, and layouts that reflow on phones.
• Descriptive link text and labels on every form field.
• Alternative text on meaningful images; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
• No content that flashes more than three times per second.
• The WP Accessibility plugin to add further fixes such as long-description support and focus outlines.

Known limitations

The embedded Google Map on the contact page is provided by Google and its accessibility is outside our control; the address and phone number are provided in text next to it. Some older PDF inspection reports we email may not be fully tagged; ask and we will provide the information in another format.
