Chimney inspection, Level 1 and Level 2

What we deliberately do not do
We do not clean air ducts or HVAC systems, we do not install fireplaces or stoves we have not inspected the chimney for, and we do not quote masonry work over the phone. Keeping the list short is how a seven-person trade keeps its standards.
How the services fit together
Most customers start with a sweep and Level 1 inspection. If the inspection finds cracked tiles, the next step is a Level 2 camera scan and usually a liner. If it finds water damage, the next step is cap, crown and masonry work, in that order. Gas fireplaces and dryer vents are annual services on their own schedule and are easy to add to any visit. Questions we hear about this
Which service do I need if I just bought a house?
A Level 2 inspection, which includes a camera scan of the full flue. If the flue is dirty it will need a sweep first so the camera can see the tile.
Can I combine services in one visit?
Yes. Sweep plus Level 1 inspection, chimney plus dryer vent, and gas tune-up plus chimney inspection are the common combinations and they save a trip charge.
Do you service wood stoves and inserts?
Yes. We sweep the liner and connector, inspect the appliance connection and reline when an insert was installed without a full liner.
What about pellet stoves?
We sweep and inspect pellet stove venting. Pellet appliances have their own service needs on the appliance side, and we tell you when a dealer should look at it.
Do you handle emergencies?
A fireplace smoking into the house, a suspected chimney fire, or a gas fireplace that will not shut off gets same-day attention. Call rather than booking online for those.
Do you offer maintenance plans?
We keep a reminder list and call you when your annual sweep or tune-up is due. There is no contract and no fee for the reminder.
Do you provide written reports?
Every inspection and sweep comes with a written summary and photos. Level 2 inspections include the camera stills and the footage on request.
Are prices the same in every town you serve?
Yes for the annual services. We do not add a travel charge within our service area.
